What is single-source design-build?

Single-source design-build means that you work with McHale Landscape Design every step of the way throughout your project. From the design to the implementation of your project, you will work with the McHale Landscape Design team.

WHAT AREAS DOES MCHALE LANDSCAPE DESIGN SERVE?

With offices in Upper Marlboro, Annapolis, Clarksburg, Easton, and McLean, we serve the following counties in Maryland and Virginia: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, St. Mary’s, Dorchester, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s, Queen Anne’s, Talbot’s, Fairfax, Loudon, and Prince William.

How long will McHale Landscape Design take to complete my landscape design and/or construction?

We thoroughly explain each step of our design-build process to our clients, giving you an estimate of how long each part of the project will take. The timeline for each project depends upon the scope of work, the weather, and material availability. However, McHale Landscape Design prides itself on completing your project on budget and on time.

How much input will I have during the project?

We include you during every step of the way. It is one of the only ways that we can ensure your satisfaction during the entire design-build process – from design, to construction, to the finished project.

How much will my project cost?

The cost of each project depends upon many factors, including: the scope, size of the project, and building materials. However, we provide our customers with a budget cost analysis at the beginning of the design process and keep them involved every step of the way, so there are never any surprises.

Do you charge for your designs?

Yes. A good landscape design is invaluable and a worthy investment. Our professional design staff consists of talented, experienced designers, including five Registered Landscape Architects. It takes time to develop an accurate, creative and functional design and we question the value and integrity of free design. We charge a fair and reasonable fee for our time, knowledge and experience. However, our goal is to use the design as a communication tool, not a source of revenue and the costs reflect this principle. Each of our projects begins with a Signature McHale Design-Build Plan, some of which include a custom fly-through video of how your landscape will look upon completion.

What are the qualifications of your design staff and what professional associations are you affiliated with?

McHale Landscape Design follows the standards implemented by the American Nurseryman Association and Landscape Contractors of America. Our team is licensed by the Maryland Department of Agriculture and Maryland Home Improvement Commission, and also holds the necessary state and county licenses. We employ five Registered Landscape Architects, seven Certified Landscape Technicians, and five Certified Professional Horticulturists.

How is McHale Landscape Design
value-based?

Our clients entrust us with both the design and build portions of their projects because they know we are detail-oriented and greatly focused on value. Unlike other landscape companies who take bids for portions of the project, McHale Landscape Design believes in handling your project every step of the way.
